WeInnovate! is an opportunity for WBENC-Certified Women's Business Enterprises (WBEs) to showcase their company's expertise in areas of innovation that are critical to WBENC's Corporate Members. These corporations are eager to hear from women-owned businesses qualified to bring groundbreaking solutions to market. By participating in WeInnovate!, interested corporations will be able to schedule 1:1 meetings with finalists to further discuss business opportunities.

The application period for WeInnovate! at the 2019 Summit & Salute is now closed.

  • Have a market ready solution addressing one or more of the industry innovation categories listed on the WeInnovate! application
  • Are registered for Summit & Salute

  • Note: Preference will be given to WBEs that have not previously participated in WeInnovate!

    • February 8, 2019: WBEs selected to participate in WeInnovate! will be notified.
    • February 19, 2019: Mandatory presentation skills webinar for participants who are selected will take place 4:30 - 5:30 PM EST.

    What is WeInnovate?

    WeInnovate! is an exclusive opportunity for Women's Business Enterprises (WBEs) to showcase their company's expertise in areas of innovation that are critical to WBENC's Corporate Members. At WeInnovate! a select group of WBEs will make innovation proposals to WBENC's Corporate Members. These corporations are eager to hear from women-owned businesses who are qualified to bring groundbreaking solutions to market.

    What are the event details?

    WeInnovate! will take place on March 11-12 at the 2019 Summit & Salute in Houston, Texas.

    Where can I apply?

    The application period is now closed.

    What is the deadline?

    The deadline to apply was January 31, 2019.

    I am in the process of receiving a patent – should I still apply?

    All submitted applications will be kept confidential and will not be shared with anyone except for the application reviewers. Only Corporate Members will abele to see the WeInnovate! Session presentations.

    My business doesn’t fit into any of the given categories. Can I still apply?

    If your business has an innovative solution to any industry need, but does not need fit into any of the categories, please fill out the application and provide more details in the capability statement section.

    How many WBEs will be selected?

    We will accommodate as many WBEs as possible who meet the innovation criteria.

    What industries are you seeking?

    We are seeking WBEs with innovative products or services in:

    Healthcare, Energy/Environment, Utilities, Technology/Computing, IT Solutions, Agriculture, Automotive, Financial Services, Food Manufacturing, Manufacturing, Packaging, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Insurance, Retail/Consumer Products & Services

    We are seeking WBEs across various industries but cannot guarantee that we will have a WBE from each industry track. WBENC may place emphasis on certain industries based on corporate interest.

    Are there any requirements once selected?

    This year, we will hold a mandatory presentation skills Q&A webinar on February 19, 2019, 4:30 - 5:30 PM EST. We are offering this as a wonderful opportunity for our WBEs to ask questions and brush up on pitch presentation skills!

    Who will be in the audience?

    The audience for WeInnovate! will be 2018 Top Corporations for WBEs attending the WBENC Summit & Salute. There will likely be many senior executives, CPOs, and supplier diversity teams in the room.

    Will the Corporate Members receive information from our application?

    Corporate Members will not receive information from the applications, but they will receive a profile sheet of all the selected WBEs. The profile sheet will include basic information such as name, contact information, business name, and business description.
