Statement from March 5, 2020
WBENC has been closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and consulting with our network on its potential impact. The health and safety of our constituents is our highest priority, and after a thorough assessment, we have determined the best course of action is to postpone the 2020 WBENC Summit & Salute.
This decision was not made lightly, and we are immensely disappointed that we will not be able to host this event and help fuel opportunities for our network of women-owned businesses and their supporters.
We want to be transparent with you through this process. First and foremost, we are postponing to keep our network healthy and safe. As the coronavirus situation evolves, it has become increasingly difficult to guarantee a healthy and safe environment for our attendees even with the utmost precautions.
Second, for every WBENC event, we make a promise to deliver a productive and valuable experience, where attendees leave with more knowledge, expertise, contacts and business opportunities. With more and more travel bans, and many constituents wary of traveling, it is clear that moving forward with an event at this time would compromise our ability to deliver on that promise.
This is an unprecedented situation for WBENC, and we appreciate your patience and support as we work through next steps. We do not have all of the answers today, but we are committed to keeping you informed on what this means for you moving forward.
Thank you for being such an important part of our network. We value your trust in us as we work to deliver value and experiences you have come to expect from WBENC.
