Meet & Greet

TUESDAY, MARCH 17 | 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM

As one of WBENC’s most engaging opportunities, Meet & Greet is a business networking event providing WBENC-Certified Women’s Business Enterprises (WBEs) the opportunity to connect with participating corporations or government entities of their choice in an open but formal environment.

During Meet & Greet, WBENC Corporate & Government Members are assigned a table, and during a series of 20-minutes sessions, WBEs visit the corporations of their choosing and pitch their businesses in a small group setting.

How it Works

The Meet & Greet opportunity is broken up into approximately seven roundtable sessions of 20 minutes each. All participating Corporate and Government Members are assigned one roundtable during the entire Meet & Greet event. For each 20-minute session, eligible WBEs are able to sit at the Corporate Member table of their choosing, with each roundtable seating up to 10 WBEs.

Once a 20-minute roundtable session has started, the Corporate/Government Member will begin with a two-minute introduction and overview of their company. Then each WBE at the table will have 90 seconds to present their elevator pitch outlining their company’s capacity as well as what differentiates their company from others in their industry. After the introductions, the Corporate/Government Member has an opportunity to ask questions and engage in roundtable discussions. At the end of the 20 minutes, all WBEs must move to another Corporate/Government Member table before the next roundtable session starts.

Plan Ahead

We highly recommended participating WBEs identify the top seven corporations to target and connect with during the Meet & Greet event. Handouts of participating Meet & Greet Corporate/Government Members will be available at the registration desk when you arrive and distributed one week before the event.

New in 2020: Introducing WeInnoPITCH

New this year, Meet & Greet is also serving as the pre-qualifying round of WeInnoPITCH, an innovation-focused pitch competition for WBENC-Certified WBEs.

During Meet & Greet, WBENC Corporate and Government Members hosting Meet & Greet Tables will hand-select 80 WBEs who deliver an effective pitch for their innovative product or solution during one of the roundtable sessions at Meet & Greet.

The 80 WBEs who are selected will have the opportunity to pitch in the first round of WeInnoPITCH, taking place Tuesday, March 17, 2:30 PM-5 PM. WBEs will be notified immediately following Meet & Greet if they are selected.
