Farryn Melton
Sr. Vice President & CPO

Farryn is the SVP, Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) for BMS.  Her team is responsible aligning with company’s business strategy to optimize value, and support the companies transformation.

With revenues of $20B, her team is responsible for managing the company’s external spend in excess of $7.5B. In addition to Global Procurement and Supplier Relationship Management, her team is also responsible for the Strategy to Pay process and associated operations, as well as global travel and fleet operations. She leads a diverse team of over 250 colleagues around the world and manages large external partnerships. 

Farryn has a 25-year career in business management and procurement, including key leadership positions with Fortune 100 companies including: Amgen, Novartis, Pfizer, Warner-Lambert, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Boeing and Rockwell International.  She successfully led the transformation of several procurement organizations to become “best in class.”

Ms. Melton is a lifetime certified purchasing manager (CPM) and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  She has received a number of external recognitions in her field; the most recent include The National Association of Purchasing Managers Executive of the Year in 2015, and CPO of the year from the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) in 2016 and Top 100 Women in Diversity in 2016 and 2017.

Farryn is active (externally) in the procurement/supply chain arena; as well as Diversity and Inclusion (within and outside of BMS). She serves on the board of directors for The NMSDC (executive board through 2016) and Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC); and actively supports The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and Diversity Alliance for Science.

Ms. Melton also leads the Diversity & Inclusion Council for BMS Global Business Operations for the last several years and sits on the Global Diversity & Inclusion Council within BMS.  She is a mentor to several colleagues within, and outside of, BMS.

Ms. Melton enjoys music, the arts, reading, and spending time with her family. She currently resides in Skillman, N.J. with her husband Gary of 29 years, and two children; Halli and Alexander.
