Pamela Chambers O’Rourke is President and CEO of ICON Information Consultants, LP, a global human capital solutions company providing Fortune 500 clients with an unmatched breadth and depth of talent customized to their professional needs.  Since founding ICON in 1998, O’Rourke’s strategic approach to expansion and dedication to excellence have propelled ICON to reach over $265 million in revenue for 2015 and employ over 3,150 consultants across the U.S. and Canada.

Since becoming certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) in 2001, ICON has become a national leader demonstrating the potential for growth through partnership with women’s business organizations and other WBEs.  This extends to Canada, where she was one of the first U.S.-based WBEs to be certified by WEConnect Canada in 2011.

Through her own passionate commitment of time and resources, O’Rourke has served WBENC’s national and Regional Partner Organizations, as a Board Member, sponsor and mentor. She was a member of the WBENC Board of Directors from 2008-2013.  She as served as a Board member for the Women’s Business Enterprise Alliance (WBEA) – Houston, and is currently on the Board of the Women’s Business Council (WBC) – Southwest for the second time, from 2015-2018.

O’Rourke’s partnership with fellow women business owners is also evidenced but her roles as a Foundation Board Member for the Committee of 200 (C200) and a member of Women’s Presidents Organization (WPO).

As a result of her contributions as a business owner and partner in women’s success, O’Rourke and ICON have received numerous awards, including the WBENC WBE Star Award (2008), WBC-Southwest’s WBE Advocate of the Year Award (2013) and WBE of the Year for the over $5-million category (2011 and 2013); the WBEA Supplier of the Year (over $10 million) in 2014 and 2010, and the WBEA Woman Advocate of the Year in 2009.  In 2011 she was inducted into the WBE Hall of Fame by MBN-US Magazine. 

O’Rourke is extraordinarily proud to have received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2009 in the Business Services and Staffing category for the Houston and Gulf Coast Area.  Among others are the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 2005 Woman in Business Champion of the Year and Fast Company’s Top 25 Women Business Builders. ICON has earned several placements on the Inc. 5000 Inaugural List of Fastest Growing Private Companies, as well as the Houston Business Journal’s Houston Fast 100 and Top 100 Fastest Growing Women-Owned Businesses from 2007-2015.

O’Rourke views education as the foundation of life’s success. As a University of Houston alumnus, she sponsors multiple UH events, scholarships and was appointed to the UHAA CEO (Cougar Executive Officers) Advisory Board.  In May 2016, Pamela was honored as a Distinguished Alumni which was awarded by University of Houston Alumni Association at the 62nd Annual Alumni Gala.  Additionally, she served as a Board Member of AVANCE-Houston, an organization that enhances parenting skills by promoting family literacy and early childhood development.
