The 1:1 MatchMaker Meetings will take place on Thursday, March 23rd from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
PROCUREMENT OPPORTUNITY CONNECTION
WBENC-Certified WBEs who purchase a Summit Only or a Full Summit & Salute registration; WBENC-Certified WBE sponsors; and WBENC-Certified WBE sponsor guests must be registered by January 23, 2017 to participate in the 1:1 MatchMaker meetings.
Being eligible means your company will be included in the 1:1 MatchMaker selection process. It does not guarantee you a meeting.
1:1 MatchMaker is a corporate-driven program for Certified Women's Business Enterprises to have a pre-scheduled, one-on-one meeting with a WBENC National Corporate or Government Member and/or their prime suppliers/key business partners to explore 1st, 2nd, and 3rd tier sourcing opportunities. Corporate and Government purchasing officials are WBENC National Members.
Meetings will be extended by participating National Corporate and Government Members based on their current product/service needs. Unfortunately, due to limited meeting time slots per corporation, not every WBE may receive a meeting request.
- January 25th: WBE ACTION ITEM
ONLY the female owner will receive an email from firstname.lastname@example.org with directions to create or update the company’s MatchMaker profile in the MatchMaker tool. The WBE will need to block schedule times within the tool so that no meeting can be scheduled at a time when the WBE is not available. If the owner is not attending, please make sure she is aware of the email and knows which staff person to forward it to. If no email is received by the owner, please email email@example.com for directions.
- February 10th: WBE DEADLINE
All WBE profiles must be completed. Those WBEs that do not submit a profile, will automatically be excluded from the selection process.
- February 13th: CORPORATE MEMBER SELECTION PROCESS BEGINS
The participating Corporate Members begin to review the eligible profiles to identify the WBEs with whom they would like to have a 1:1 MatchMaker meeting based on actual needs in their supply chain.
- March 10th: CORPORATE MEMBER SCHEDULING DEADLINE
All Corporate Members will review the eligible profiles to identify the WBEs that sell the products/services they currently need. After this review process has been completed, they will determine which WBE(s) will receive an invitation to meet 1:1 for 20 minutes. Once a Corporate Member has scheduled a meeting with a WBE, the WBE will receive an email notification. However, it is strongly recommended that the WBE check their company’s schedule in the MatchMaker Tool. All MatchMaker meetings must be scheduled by March 10th.
- March 17th: WBE ACTION ITEM
Print your final schedule. Schedules printed prior to this date will not have the table numbers assigned. Table numbers must be on the schedule!
Each WBE has access to their schedule when logged into the MatchMaker tool. It is strongly recommended that you monitor your company’s online schedule once a week to see if a meeting has been scheduled. While automatic emails are generated, delivery is not guaranteed. Most of the Corporate Members will schedule their meetings between March 1st and 10th, which is why weekly monitoring is important. In addition, meetings may be canceled and rescheduled by the Corporate Members, so it is important to check the schedule just prior to the start of 1:1 MatchMakers to ensure no changes have taken place.
Meetings are automatically accepted on the behalf of the WBE Company. No action is required by the WBE unless they wish to cancel the meeting.
Important Note: Because each WBE is able to personalize her schedule and block meeting times that she knows she is not available to attend, no meeting will be rescheduled due to travel or other conference event involvement.
All corporations participating in MatchMaker will be listed in the MatchMaker tool by February 3rd. If you see that a company is participating, you may reach out to the supplier diversity team using the contact information in WBENCLink2.0. When doing this, please keep in mind that the person you are emailing may not be the MatchMaker participant and will need to forward the email to the appropriate person. You will want to let them know you understand what their company does and what your solution for them is. In addition, it is important that you convey your understanding of the process and that you are requesting a meeting only if they have available time slots. Please do not contact any company that has not been identified in the MatchMaker tool as a participant.
This is your time to convince the corporation to take your company to the next level, so do your homework! Every company is different, convince them that your company can meet their specific needs because you understand what those needs are. Be on time! WBEs who arrive late, will not be allowed to enter the 1:1 MatchMaker meeting room. Arrive 20 minutes prior to your meeting to check in and be seated in the holding room.
